In 1961, Emilio Gonzales and his brother Anthony opened a small Taco stand in El Sugundo California. They served 3 food items: Tacos, Quesadillas, and Big-Beef Burritos. (You could also get a Coke®)

Being moron businessmen, they never hit the big time with this awesome recipe. While the Gonzales were happy making ends meet, Taco Bell®, Dell Taco®, and Taco John's® all "cloned" this recipe for their beef burritos. But they never got it exactly right.

My good friend Anthony was kind enough to "give" me this original recipe....as long as I didn't call him a moron. So.....Anthony.....you are not a moron. Just an idiot.

By the way, the Burrito Brothers® are doing well. They sold the rights to their name in 1990 for 2.3 million dollars.
Now...instead of having a 1967 Mustang and a 1980 Pinto on blocks in front of their house, they have a Lexus and a Mercedes.....on blocks, in front of their house.

Burrito Brothers® Big-Beef™ Burrito

Ingredients:

3/4 pound ground chuck
1/2 cup Hunt's® tomato sauce
1/4 cup canned, diced green chilies
1/2 cup water
Burrito Brothers® seasoning
Six burrito sized (10") flour tortillas

Burrito Brothers® Seasoning:

3 Tablespoons dried, chopped onion
1/2 Tablespoon cornstarch
2 teaspoons Accent® flavor enhancer
1 teaspoon dried, minced garlic
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon chili powder
1 teaspoon ground cumin
1/2 teaspoon ground red (cayenne) pepper
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1/8 teaspoon ground oregano

Mix the ingredients together well in a small container. Set aside.

Cooking your Burrito:

1. Brown the ground beef in a small frying pan, drain the fat.
2. Add the remaining ingredients, and simmer 25-35 minutes to thicken.
3. Place about 1/4 cup of the filling on a warmed burrito sized flour tortilla, and fold "burrito-style".

Makes about six Burrito Brothers® Big-Beef™ Burritos. Serve with sour cream and hot sauce. (If desired) These burritos are actually better plain...and quite spicy.
